Estimating the Impact of Adoption and Awareness of Advanced Technologies on Agriculture Income in Pakistan

Abstract

For the economic development of a country, agriculture development is considered a significant factor.  Advanced technology is beneficial for improving agriculture sectors. A country's surface and traditional methods of irrigation are used which are resulting in tremendous loss of productive land. The main purpose of the study is to estimate the impact of adoption and awareness of advanced Technologies on agricultural income.  For estimate purposes, central Punjab was chosen, and collecting data a survey was conducted, the well-organized questionnaire was distributed among central Punjab from 400 farmers by using a sampling technique. OLS techniques used to estimate linear function are chosen to minimize the sum of the square of differences among observed values. Results obtained from this study show that the adoption of technologies and awareness of the technologies have a significant and positive relationship with the agricultural income of the farmers. The policy recommendation of this research is that markets and stakeholders must focus on agriculture technology adoption and the government must design policies that encourage technology adoption in Pakistan.
