PUBLICATION MALPRACTICE STATEMENT
All parties involved in publishing—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—must follow ethical standards.
The editor of the International Journal of Advanced Social Studies decides which articles are published. The editor follows the journal’s policies and legal requirements, including copyright and plagiarism rules, and may consult other editors or reviewers.
Manuscripts are evaluated only for their content, without considering the author’s race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, or political views.
The editor and staff will keep all information about submitted manuscripts confidential. Only the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisors, and the publisher will have access when needed.
Editors and board members cannot use any unpublished material from a submitted manuscript in their own research without written permission from the author.
DUTIES OF REVIEWERS
Peer review helps the editor to decide whether to publish a manuscript and also provides feedback to help authors improve their papers.
If a reviewer feels unqualified to review a manuscript or cannot review it on time, they should inform the editor and decline.
Manuscripts sent for review must be kept confidential and not shared or discussed with others unless the editor allows it.
Reviews should be fair and objective. Personal criticism of the author is not allowed, and reviewers should clearly explain their opinions with reasons.
Reviewers should point out important published work that the authors have not cited. Any previously reported ideas, observations, or arguments should have proper citations. Reviewers should also inform the editor if the manuscript is very similar to other published work they are aware of.
Information or ideas obtained from peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Reviewers should not review manuscripts if they have a conflict of interest with the authors, institutions, or companies involved.
AUTHOR’S LIABILITIES
The corresponding author is responsible for all communication with the International Journal of Advanced Social Studies and for coordinating with co-authors. Before submission, they must make sure all authors are listed, the order is agreed upon, and all authors know the paper is being submitted.
After acceptance, proofs are sent to the corresponding author, who handles communication with the journal on behalf of all co-authors. The corresponding author is responsible for checking names, addresses, affiliations, and the accuracy of the content in the proofs. Journal may not correct errors if they were present in the approved proofs.
All submissions and communications with the journal are confidential. Authors must also keep all correspondence, referee reports, and other materials private and not share them publicly without the journal’s permission.
Authors must present accurate accounts of their research and discuss its significance objectively. Data should be represented correctly, and enough details should be included for others to replicate the work. Fraud or false statements are unacceptable.
Authors may need to provide raw data for editorial review and should be ready to make it publicly available when possible. Data should be kept for a reasonable time after publication.
Authors must submit original work and properly cite or quote any work of others used in their paper.
Authors should not publish the same research in more than one journal at the same time. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals is unethical.
Authors should give proper credit to the work of others and cite influential publications.
Only those who significantly contributed to the study should be listed as authors. Others who contributed in smaller ways should be acknowledged. The corresponding author must ensure all co-authors approve the final paper and agree to its submission.
If the research involves chemicals, equipment, or procedures with hazards, these must be clearly stated in the manuscript.
All authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest and all sources of funding for the research.
If authors find significant errors in their published work, they must notify the editor and help correct or retract the paper.
Authors may suggest independent referees when submitting, or request the exclusion of up to two individuals or labs. The editorial board makes the final decision.
International Journal of Advanced Social Studies follows COPE Retraction Guidelines and publishes corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions when necessary. All notices are linked to the original article. Information on COPE Retraction Guidelines can be found here: Retraction Guidelines
